Coaching with a Karen
Team-based resilience & leadership training

Don't Just Prepare for the Work. Prepare the People.

Coaching with a Karen is Karen Hurley's team-based resilience and leadership training for high-stress professionals. Whole teams train together, using values-driven principles and performance philosophies borrowed from championship-level sports.

What Coaching with a Karen is

Team Training for High-Stress Professionals

Coaching with a Karen trains whole teams to stay clear, connected and steady under pressure. It is team-based only, not one-on-one coaching.

High-stress organizations invest heavily in equipment, technology, policies and operational readiness. But none of those things perform without people who can think clearly, communicate effectively and stay connected under pressure. That's where Coaching with a Karen comes in.

Karen Hurley brings a combination of leadership development, coaching, high-stakes operational experience and practical resilience strategies to teams working in demanding environments. The training blends values-driven principles, intention, hope and gratitude, and science-based spiritual practices with performance philosophies borrowed from championship-level sports. That lens gives teams a language for stress and recovery that reads as strength, not therapy-speak.

Why teams, not individuals

Culture Is Your Competitive Edge

Culture isn't what you say. It's what your people experience. Karen Hurley helps leadership teams turn culture from something you talk about into something you practice.

Shared Practice Sticks

Individual coaching changes one person. Team-based training changes how a whole group operates under pressure, together, with the same shared language. Practices reinforced by the people someone works alongside every day stick better than practices covered once a week in a private session. That is why Coaching with a Karen is built around teams, not individual clients.

Trust Built Together

Teams leave with shared practices for staying steady under pressure, a common language for talking about stress and recovery, and stronger trust built through training together. That trust is the part a rotating series of individual sessions never builds, and it is what survives turnover at the top.

Language That Lands

Skeptical of anything that sounds like soft-skills training? Coaching with a Karen drops the clinical language. Intention, hope and gratitude sit alongside performance philosophies from championship-level sports, which tends to land with teams that would tune out anything that sounds therapeutic.

Whole-Person, Not Clinical

Karen Hurley works from a whole-person framework: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, treated as connected. Coaching is not therapy, and Karen is not a clinician. The training gives teams practical tools; it does not diagnose or treat anyone.

How it pairs with PIF

Program Design and Team Training, One Point of Entry

PIF Samaritan Services builds an organization's wellness program. Coaching with a Karen trains the team directly in the practices behind it.

Karen Hurley leads both practices. She meets with every organization first and determines whether PIF's program design, Coaching with a Karen's team training, or a combination of both fits what you actually need. Some organizations start with team training. Others start with a PIF Samaritan Services assessment and add training once the program is in place.

How a Team Engagement Starts

  • A conversation with Karen about your team, its pressures and what you've tried
  • Karen recommends team training, a PIF assessment, or both
  • Training is built around your team's actual work, not a borrowed template
  • Fewer, deeper sessions, designed to lighten what your people carry rather than add to the calendar
